Description

This course is designed for prospect phlebotomists or health care practitioners who are responsible for collection of blood and other specimens for examination. The course is designed to impart knowledge of skills, techniques and handling of equipment to ensure a successful and safe specimen and blood collection. The course benefits laboratory testing by making it diagnostics effective, leads to customer satisfaction and effective health outcomes.

The course is an integrated one that includes communication, clinical, technical and safety skills that are mandatory for a phlebotomist. The course includes both theoretical and practical work. Upon completion, the students will be able to take a National Certificate Exam.

Expectations

What is expected of the students upon successful completion of the Phlebotomist Technician Program?

Grading Scheme

All students must secure 75% in all oral, written and lab work assessments. Failing to do so will render them as ineligible for the certificate.
